Terms
Terms of use
In effect from 20 May 2026.
The short version
HeadFacts is an independent short-form video essay project on findings from the behavioral sciences. The site and clips are free to read, watch, share, and quote with attribution. The clips are not advice; they are essays. Don't repost the clips as your own work, and don't use the content to train machine-learning models.
Acceptance
By reading headfacts.com or watching a video that this site points to, you accept these terms. The site has no login, account, or paid surface; if you do not accept, closing the page is sufficient.
What HeadFacts publishes
Short-form video essays, typically under sixty seconds, each on one finding from psychology, neuroscience, or behavioral science. Each essay names the underlying paper, program of research, or replication state. The essays are simplifications by design and cannot substitute for the cited paper, the textbook, or the field's living debate. They are starting points and provocations, not conclusions.
Each essay is produced with help from AI tools (script drafting, text-to-speech narration, automated captioning, and stock-footage selection) and human-reviewed before publication. Every TikTok publication carries the platform's AI-generated-content label per platform policy.
Not advice
Nothing on this site or in the clips is clinical, diagnostic, medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, financial, or professional advice. If a finding in a clip describes something that resembles your life and you'd like to act on it, talk to a clinician, therapist, or qualified professional whose work is to treat your situation, not narrate it in sixty seconds.
What you may do with the content
- Watch and re-watch any clip on its native platform.
- Share clip links to friends, classes, reading groups, syllabi, conference talks, internal wikis.
- Quote a clip in your own writing, with credit and a link back to the original.
- Reference a clip in a teaching context, a podcast, a research seminar.
What you may not do with the content
- Reupload the clips, in whole or in part, as your own content on any platform.
- Strip captions, intro / outro, or attribution from a clip.
- Use the clips, their transcripts, the captions, or this site's text to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark machine-learning models in whole or in part without prior written permission.
- Imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with HeadFacts based on a clip's content. We do not endorse products, courses, apps, or political positions.
No warranty
The site and the clips are provided as-is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for any particular purpose. The behavioral sciences are an active field; findings get re-evaluated; today's confident summary may be tomorrow's failed replication. We try to flag replication state and effect sizes inside each essay, but the final responsibility for "is this still the consensus?" rests with the reader and not with us.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site or the clips, including but not limited to time lost, ideas adopted, or conversations turned awkward by something you heard in an essay.
Third-party links
The site may link to TikTok, academic papers, publisher pages, author profiles, and related material. We do not control those services and aren't responsible for their content, availability, advertising, or policies.
Changes
These terms can change. The effective date above will move when they do. Material changes will be summarized in this section for at least thirty days.
